SilkRoute delivers value for customers of varying size and complexity operating
in multiple industries. SRG customers include:
Rapid Implementation
SilkRoute’s retail trading platform had been operating several categories on behalf
of this global retailer for nearly two years when a key wholesale book supplier
unexpectedly collapsed less than six weeks prior to the critical holiday selling
season. With tens of millions dollars of sales at risk, the retailer turned
to SilkRoute for help in constructing a new, internal supply chain for the books
category. Utilizing a proprietary rapid implementation approach, SRG completed
a basic implementation of the books category in a matter of days. As a result,
the customer was able to maintain operations and capture significant market share
as its competitors struggled to find a solution.
Large Grocer
In spring of 2007, SilkRoute systems were implemented on behalf of a global retailing
giant based in the United Kingdom. SilkRoute solutions operate the supply chain
servicing CDs, DVDs, console games, game consoles, and books for both in-store and
on-line sales. SRG drives all supply chain activities for the aforementioned
categories including new product forecasting, buying, allocation, demand planning
and replenishment, promotions management, returns management and merchandising management.
In supporting more than $2 billion in retail sales, SilkRoute routinely processes
100 million transactions per day in support of this global customer.
Messaging Services
In the fall of 2008, SilkRoute was engaged by a retail client to evaluate its existing
EDI trading infrastructure. SilkRoute consultants spent less than 30 days analyzing
and redesigning the infrastructure. In the process, the customer moved meaningful
pieces of their supply chain from an EDI VAN arrangement to a private network infrastructure
with simplified data exchanges services implemented by SilkRoute. As a result, this
customer now enjoys in excess of $50,000 in monthly savings associated with the
elimination of VAN charges.

Scan-Based Trading
In 2009, SilkRoute deployed the newest version of their retail trading platform
called SkyLight on behalf of a $300 million book manufacturer and distributor.
This manufacturer specializes in promotional content and supplies all their retail
customers on a consignment basis. SRG was able to quickly integrate this business
into its SkyLight supply chain offering and to deliver critical inventory visibility
and optimization benefits. As a result, this company reduced inventories by
30% and improved retail sales by more than 10%
